Shopify Dev Toolkit by Zenvix Web

Last updated: July 4, 2026

Shopify Dev Toolkit by Zenvix Web ("the Extension") is a browser extension built by Zenvix Web to help Shopify developers, agencies, and store owners diagnose theme, performance, SEO, and structured-data issues on Shopify stores. This policy explains what data the Extension accesses, how it's used, and what it does not do.

What the Extension accesses

The Extension only runs when you actively click its icon on a webpage (using Chrome's activeTab permission). It does not run in the background and does not have standing access to every website you visit. When activated, it may read:

  • Publicly visible page content (HTML, scripts, JSON-LD/structured data, meta tags) on the current tab
  • Shopify-specific data exposed by the page itself, such as theme name/ID, product/cart JSON endpoints, and installed app script signatures — all of which are already publicly visible in the page source to any visitor

What the Extension does not do

  • It does not collect, store, or transmit your personal browsing history
  • It does not access pages you haven't explicitly opened the popup on
  • It does not read private admin data, passwords, or authenticated account information
  • It does not sell or share data with third parties for advertising purposes

Third-party services used

To generate the performance snapshot (Core Web Vitals), the Extension sends the current page's URL to Google's PageSpeed Insights API. This means the URL of the store you're inspecting is shared with Google for the sole purpose of retrieving performance data. No other page content is sent to this API. Google's use of this data is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

Local storage

The Extension uses Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local) to remember minor usage preferences on your own device, such as whether you've dismissed the review prompt. This data stays on your device and is not transmitted anywhere.

The "Free Store Audit" feature

If you choose to click the "Free store audit — Zenvix" button, you will be taken to a page on zenvixweb.com, optionally pre-filled with the store URL and any flagged issues detected by the Extension. This is entirely optional and only happens if you actively click that button. Any information you submit on that page is subject to Zenvix Web's standard contact/inquiry handling, not this Extension's data practices.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time as the Extension's features evolve. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision.
